DID NOT WORK:
- Repair
- Safe Mode (also got stuck in safe mode)
then I tried (WORKED)
- Start windows :Using Last Known Good Configuration
It did start but the real problem was a unknown file "winlogon" (I know looks like system file), which was in my local TEMP folder. So following are steps to get rid of this file:
- Click Start > Run
- type "MSCONFIG" and click OK
- Select "StartUP" tab from top
- Look for "winlogon" file with unknown publisher and location --- C:\Users\
- Uncheck this file and delete from Temp folder
- Restart your system and you good to go.
- DONE!
Let me know, if this was helpful for you guys. I am sure it is, because it worked for me.
